In the years leading up to Alexander's return, the very first actual losses of Kalshodar were discovered outside of their ranks.

Three to four hundred of them were captured by Council forces under Alexandria Upon Tamesis and of those, only one hundred survived, if you can call it that.

While the systems of the Keres Aegis were incredibly rebust and had even displayed some very unexpected benefits of a sort (though some called it a curse), it has failed in what had been the Kalshodar's first true trial by combat.

So, in Dwarven workshops on Selene, development of the Emdymion Aegis began, despite there being no Kalshodar to wear it. Yet.

This aegis was designed to protect its user from the failings of the previous model. Multiple redundant power and routing systems were integrated into the already robust matrix. Heaver plating was added to vulnerable areas and, most importantly, it was designed to work for a short time even in the event of complete power failure.

Stronger and thicker frontal armour plates for the tunnel fighting Kalshodar were expected to face and the reactor pack was completely redesigned with emergency fusion cells in case the reactor was ever disabled, as it had been with those captured.

When Alexander returned and the Great Call went out, the new recruits were all outfitted with Emdymion Aegis as, though the newer Medusa Aegis suits had already been produced on the Dragon's Crown, there were not yet enough to go around.

It became known among the recruits as Siege Armour.

The new recruits, many of them women, didn't care, because they wanted revenge and that waited in the tunnels under Lundun.

Tunnels where the Emdymion Aegis excelled.
